you're the rule not the exception

but look at it from my view
you take your confidante and turn them sour
you take your friend and turn them foe
show me how you truly feel
I'm lost in this deep trance and no one can help
I need to give in and give up
delete the memories and throw out the baggage
leave it all behind
start a new
but it's not that simple because in my mind
I'm the exception to the rule
but darling there's a phrase
"If you're a bird then I'm a bird"
so if you're the rule then I'm the rule
and I need to move from you
but no matter how hurt I feel I never can.
